Sue Ward of LJ Hooker Ormeau wins Ormeau Agent of The Year in the RateMyAgent 2018 Agent of the Year Awards!

I am very excited to share with you the announcement that I have won the prestigious award of 2018 RMA Agent of the Year in Ormeau! This puts me in the top 7% of all agents throughout Australia.

These awards, which are the largest real estate awards in Australia, recognise those agents and agencies that have ranked the highest based on customer reviews and feedback.

In such a competitive market with many ethical agents, I’m delighted to be named the Agent of The Year in the Ormeau market. This award recognizes our dedication to providing exceptional service with unfailing integrity. My Team and I work tirelessly to change the way our local property market view real estate.

I’m not in the business of selling homes; I’m in the business of helping my clients achieve their goals, making their life a little easier during the process and helping put a smile of their faces while doing so. We’re thrilled so many of our clients appreciate our work and have rated us using the RateMyAgent site. To be voted number one by your customers is a real testament to the service we provide.

Off the Streets – an alternative to Halloween which includes the fun of dress-up and goodies, but without knocking on strangers doors, keeping our kids safe.

Come dressed up, bring your treat baskets, travel through the entire Ormeau Centre where you can collect a range of treats (lollies galore!), catch up with friends and do a little disco dancing, say hello to your favourite characters (Elmo, Spongebob, Minion, Scooby Doo, Ninja Turtle and more!) or jump in the castle! It’s an event designed to keep families off the streets while offering a safe, managed, themed event where everyone can come together.

Ekka – The True Queensland Experience

Winner Angela and Sue“Who said that we have to grow up?” – Walt Disney

Another week almost over, and (I’m very happy to say this) another successful competition!

Heading towards the EKKA, we decided that we would treat a family to one of the world’s most wonderful experiences – tickets to have a day and night of magic with their family at the Royal Queensland Show. As everyone of us can recall our own memories of fireworks, carnival rides, colourful wigs and show bags, it seemed like the ideal thing to do to allow others the same experience.

After posting the competition on Facebook, the response that we got, was to put it simply, PHENOMENAL. Reaching over 15,000 people, we had more than 165 entrants to the competition. The anticipation was almost as good as Christmas for us – who would be the lucky winner?

Finally, the day of the draw approached, and I’ll admit, there were butterflies! Our winner was the lovely Angela Fuller – and I honestly don’t know who was more excited – Angela or Me!

Angela attended the EKKA with her family and we were thrilled to read her post (and giggle at the pictures) about the experience:

“What an awesome day at the EKKA yesterday. Kids had a ball, heaps of rides, show bags and the fireworks were spectacular!!! Thanks heaps to Sue Ward Team – LJ Hooker Ormeau for the fantastic prize I won – family pass, $80 rides and food”.

Angela, congratulations again on winning the competition. We are absolutely thrilled that we were able to give you the opportunity to share that experience with your kids!

In the meantime, as we are currently riding the giddy feeling from such a joyous competition and result, we have noticed something missing. Not quite sure what…

… no, wait, we’ve worked it out – another competition!

Keep your eyes on this space, my wonderful friends. My palms are already itching and my mind is racing with ideas for our next fun experience – which means another chance to win. But what will it be?

You’ll just have to wait and see 😉

Until next time,

Never a Goodbye, it’s a See You Later

Sue and Simone“We cannot accomplish all that we need to do without working together”– Bill Richardson

Sometimes you meet people who change your life for the better. Those people are called…

Of course, while they make every work day inevitably easier, it also helps if you have wonderful colleagues as well.

I’ve been very fortunate to work with the people that I do. Each and every one of them are fascinating in their own, unique way, and each of them brings something so completely different to work every day – their own brand of genuine, honest enthusiasm.

It’s very easy to have a job where you simply go to work, make your way through the work day and count down the minutes until you have to leave. Working where I do, you simply don’t feel like that. Every work day is fun, the office is energised, and I feel like I am with my family. This translates into striving to do more for my clients and customers, because why not convert that fun into the energy that I give the customers?

As time passes, it’s unavoidable that on occasion, one of your adopted family members will spread their wings and leave the nest. And such an occasion has recently occurred – my amazing, wonderful, kind hearted and marvellous assistant, Simone, is off to new adventures.

Whilst it’s extremely hard to see her go, I am also excited for her. This girl has the world at her feet, and deservedly so. My work days may be a little dimmer without her daily sparkle, but this will be countered by the phone calls and visits that I know I will receive updating me on her new experiences and life plans.

They say that great workmates are those who make work seem like play. So while Simone won’t be in this playground anymore, you can rest assured that her name is still etched into the play equipment.

Have fun Simone, farewell and good luck – until we catch up next.

Until next time,
